How to Stop Your Van Wrap from Fading
Van wraps can promote your brand and prevent your vehicle’s paint job from fading. However, the graphics and signwriting on the wraps themselves can fade over time if you don’t take care of them correctly. The last thing you’d want is to have a faded advertisement on your vehicle because it’ll make your company look unprofessional.
Fortunately, you can take certain precautions to avoid ending up in this situation. Below are three tips on how you can stop your van wrap from fading.
1) Park Your Van in the Garage
Van wraps typically fade overexposure to the sun, wind, and rain outside. For this reason, you should park your van in a garage whenever you’re not using it. Then you will prevent it from getting exposed to these dangerous outdoor elements any more than necessary.
2) Hand Wash the Wrap
Don’t drive your wrapped van through a commercial car wash. The powerful force of the waterjets could fade or rip the vinyl film easily. Instead, it is better to hand wash your wrapped van with a soft microfibre cloth and warm water. Don’t put any cleaning chemicals or strong detergents in the water either. Use a mild detergent at most.
3) Remove Debris and Stains Immediately
Hand washing should become a weekly ritual if you drive your van daily. But if you see sap, smut, dead insects, or other debris on the vinyl wrap, then make sure you clean it up immediately. Don’t leave these elements on your wrap for too long, or they could start to deteriorate the imagery on the wrap.
