Ten Tips to Keep the Value of Your Car
It is common knowledge that cars lose value as time goes on. There will come a point when you’ll want to sell your car for whatever its current value is. Even though the value won’t be the same as it was when you first purchased the car, you can still help preserve much of its value throughout the time you own it. You just need to be educated on the best ways to go about doing this.
Below are the top 10 tips to keep the value of your car as much as possible.
1) Car wrapping should be at the top of the list for a reason. The condition of a car’s paint has a lot to do with its resale value. When you put a car wrap over your vehicle’s exterior paint job, it will preserve the longevity of the paint. This means the paint won’t fade under the sunlight or incur any minor scuffs or scratches. The wrap will basically shield the paint from all the dangerous outside elements, including bad weather. When it comes the time for you to sell your vehicle, you can easily remove the wrap without any risk of damaging your paint job at all.
2) Do not smoke in your vehicle. The smell of smoke will be ingrained into the upholstery of your vehicle. Most buyers do not like this.
3) Do not wait to get repairs. If you notice strange noises coming from your engine or anything else unusual happening, get it repaired immediately before it becomes a worse problem.
4) Get tune-ups periodically. This will ensure that your engine stays as strong as it can be.
5) Get oil changes regularly. Your engine needs to be properly lubricated with fresh oil after about 5,000 miles. Make sure you change the oil at this point.
6) Drive carefully no matter which road you are on. If you get into an accident with your vehicle, it will certainly drag down the value even if you get the damage fixed. Avoiding accidents is a must for preserving the car’s value.
7) Park your vehicle in your garage. Even though car wrapping can shield your paint from minor damage, other outdoor elements might cause your car harm. It is better to keep your car in a garage to avoid problems like vandalism, tree branches, etc.
8) Do not drive very often. Try to keep the mileage down as much as possible. A car has better resale value if it has low mileage for its age.
9) Do not drive on rough terrain too often. Rough terrain can make it easy for a car to get damaged or malfunction.
10) Clean interior stains and messes right away. Buyers like to see clean upholstery and floors without stains.
What our customers say
Boss Dog have now fitted livery to the vans at all three of our Southern Depots. Throughout the job I have found them happy to advise, efficient and above all professional in their approach. My only regret is that they don't have a branch in the North to service the other half of our fleet.I look forward to using them again as more vehicles come online.
